Ashgrove Recycling Ltd operates a waste transfer and recycling facility at Churchfield Industrial Estate, Cork.
In conjunction with our Waste Licence (147-1) issued by the Environmental Protection Agency of Ireland, we are committed to achieving high environmental standards through quality and continual improvement of environmental Performance. This is helped by the implementation of our Environmental Management System.
We endeavour to:
- Strive to prevent the release of substances that cause environmental harm to the air, water or land.
- Comply with relevant environmental standards and legislation.
- Monitor and minimise consumption of resources, including energy through careful planning and efficient use.
- Provide environmental training and education to employees so that duties/tasks can be performed in an environmentally friendly manner.
- Prevent pollution and, where feasible, seek waste reduction, recovery and recycling options for waste material.
- Handle, process, store and dispose of waste material in such a way as to minimise adverse environmental impact.
- Make this policy document freely available to our customers, suppliers and contractors and to the members of the public and other interested parties upon request.
- Maintain emergency response procedures to deal with fire, spillage, injury and other unforeseeable incidents.
- Strive to achieve the highest standards of health and safety at work and to minimise any impact our operations may have on the quality of the environment.
- Review policy progress towards environmental performance of the business.
Whilst the overall responsibility for this Environmental Policy is vested in the Managing Director as specified in existing legislation, all employees are responsible for ensuring that their work is undertaken in an environmentally conscientious manner.
